Anyone interested in submitting a logo for the upcoming guidebook app?  Here's what I cobbled together really quickly.  I hate the green, and still can't figure out a good simple logo that represents southern alberta. Quick and Dirty is not even close to being in. The left Compound Gully maybe climable starting on the 2nd pitch, but it will be hard to protect (guess). The Buchannan ridge climbs in the upper bowl look to be in.  I would guess Drywood is in too, as I suspect Midnight Madness would be as well. Lineham ice climbs would not be in as they never form up early.

A couple of years ago a new route went in between Local Decision and Long Decision.  It has solid placements, but is definitely not a "sew" up.  There is a fixed pin down low, and a bolt at mid height.  Bring some micro-nuts for the terrain before the bolt.  At the upper roof, the route cuts right to join up with Local Decision.  Unfortunately there is a bit of loose rock here.  Luckily the hard

Upper Cameron Creek Start at the Expert's choice pullout where the Deja Vu rapid is located.  This is the last official pullout before McNealy's pic-nic area.  Head down to the creek on a very good and very well defined fisherman trail.  You'll have to exit the canyon right at the hairpin turn.  This is just upstream of where Alderson Creek

There is a nice article from a few months ago in new scientist outlining the evidence that living amongst greenery is healthy on a variety of fronts.  Same article was quite emphatic that average people living in a city - despite the usual increase in consumerism - have a much lower environmental impact that average people living in the country.

Last summer we saw a great concert with John Wort Hannam.  During that concert he did a great cover of a Washboard Hank children song - well sort of a children's song - as long as your child can't really understand anything that is said....  A bit more speed and rhythm and it is actually pretty catchy.  Fast forward about a 30s to get to the song.  I was finally able to find it on youtube.

Last weekend while out hiking up Lineham, we noticed a very nice snow coluoir on the east side of Lineham Ridge. It is close to the start of the trailhead. The upper section looks quite nice. The cornice is gone, and it should still be in shape this weekend. If you go, send me pictures!

Looks like work on the bike path is underway along the middle lake. This is great to see. You can see the flagging all the way from the townsite to the park gate. It looks like there will be a separate bridge over Pass creek.This will make a world of difference for bikers and joggers. Yeah!

This summer the Red Rock Canyon parking lot will be closed. From what I understand the Park will be running shuttles from the townsite up the Canyon. They are doing extensive renovations to the whole area. You can drive up to the end, but you just can't park there. I believe there is some handicap parking in the lower lot right by the picnic tables next to the creek.This could be a good time
