Jensens Reservoir

Hi Blair, Could you please put a posting up on this blog letting people know that as of today (Sunday, Jan 11th), the road into Jensen's is pretty well impassable. There are two big drifts near the lower spillway (about 1 km below the windmills) that are huge, and I would have certainly high-centered in my 4X4. I've never seen the drifts so big there. So as it is now, it's about a 30 minute walk up the road into the Jensen's ice climb. A real approach, just like a real ice climb! :) Once you're there, the ice at Jensen's is wonderful; thick and plastic - with a nice steeper line near the top on the left. Thanks, Brad Hagen

Thanks Blair,

Also, Mark Zieber let me know that he DID get in there on Saturday, but had to drive around on some other roads North and then West of Jensen's, and he approached Jensen's from some road paralleling the canal from the West. I've never been that way, but apparently it can be done.....

Brad.

Yes, i know the one that he's talking about. I've only been on it once but the entrance was just south of Magrath before you head up the hill and it parallels the canal.

As of today (Sunday, Jan 18th), the big drifts on the road to Jensen's have been plowed through, so access is no longer an issue.

Jensen's is still nice and big, with surprisingly little surface water today, despite all the warm temps....
