Mt. Ward
Did a solo trip on Mt. Ward on Saturday, was a really nice sunny day with medium wind on the summit ridge. I had good intentions to do the ridge traverse to Mt. Alison but with little energy and not enough time I called it a day. There is a good base started and the snow was consolidated enough to kick good steps. If the face gets more snow, avalanche hazard might be an issue as there was soft sluff avalanches falling from Mt ward/Alison ridge all day.
What was anyone else up to this weekend?
Cheers
Scott

Casey and I hiked up the approach to the ice climbs on the north face of chinook, very nice day on saturday. There was some ice but I doubt it will last through this chinook we are having right now. The approach is a very nice walk in the fall with great scenery at the end.

We hiked into wall lake and up bennet pass onto akamina ridge on saturday. Beautiful day. Some snow on east side of the ridge leading up to bennett pass. The ice at the back of wall lake was starting to form but by mid afternoon you could here alot of it coming down from up on the ridge. I would be really surprised if anything is still hanging in. But there was a lot of water running down the cliffs behind wall lake, so if we get a good cold snap there could be alot of ice back there.
