Easter Weekend

If you're heading down to Waterton, break out the skis.  There is still a tonne of snow on the ground.  The upper lake is still frozen over.  Right now (Thursday) we're getting a couple cm of new snow.  My front window still has a 10ft drift half burying it.  The rebooted webcam has images.

- UPDATE -
Sat.  Wandered up Milt's delight today.  There is a two bolt belay at the main ledge to the right of Leaning Column's start.  (unfortunately).  There was also a fixed nut at the start which was just a move too high for a comfortable first piece when not using the bolts.  Still a bit of running water at the top.  The rock was really warm, however the wind picked up by the time we topped out.  Anne rapped back to the packs - voided our original plan for me to climb it twice (once without pack, once with).  I ended up wandering down through the snow and postholing through the talus while Anne rapped and walked out in hiking boots.  Got some strange looks and I hobbled back home in my barefeet (much more comfortable than frozen climbing shoes).  Good day.

Still snow on some ledges, but is rapidly clearing off.  The top out pitches on the upper Hump are still quite snowy.  Bad avy danger still.  One slide made it most of the way down the Bertha gullies.

Did anyone get out over Easter? I was in Costa Rica on a school trip with students. Good times.

I saw that and was totally jealous:( Sounds like the ORKA facebook site is pretty active. I've noticed a few tips being planned. Water levels should make this a great year.
