Mini Ice Opener

Quick & Dirty - Dec 2

There was a mini Ice Opener of sorts at Quick & Dirty on Sunday - good times with 3 separate parties there.

The climbs in the Q&D area are in, fun, and very very wet. French Kiss was especially sloppy. Hopefully the climbs will stay in good shape through the Chinook this week. It also snowed hard all day, yay!

any photos?? Jill and I went out on saturday and messed around on the right compound gully. The ice was reasonably thick and not wet.

Cheers.

wow lots of activity in Waterton.

Out in Canmore we had 11 people staying at our shack for Icefest.

7 of us made it out to Even Tomas creek on Saturday. Meanwhile James, Melissa, Steph, and Sarah hit up icefest for free stuff, demos at the wall and general Canmore fun. For evening entertainment we had a big cheese fondue, wine, and a bit of a party.

Although we only climbed Chantilly Falls it was a great day of cold plastic ice. Matt and Kristy got their first taste of Ice. Scott got a great lead in on leash-less tools earning a 10 pound souvenir for the effort. Michelle and Madi got in their second climbs done in style, and we made it out before dark.

Sunday was a day of pillaging free gear, and playing on the man made ice wall. By the end of the weekend we had 6 people try out ice for the first time!
