Trips June 2-16

Post your trips here.

After the fun Waterton BBQ this last weekend, I am hoping for a trip down to Blackleaf on June 14/15. Lots to climb there, and if you are a boulderer, there is a tonne of stuff you can go break your ankles on. - Last time we were down there though, it was a couple of locals who took a ground fall and had to crawl out from the 1 pitch sport routes- ouch!!

I have ordered Jake's guide to the area, and should have a review of it up as soon as it gets in.

Any suggestion of what trails might be in shape in Waterton and Glacier for hiking this weekend?

I think most things will still be snowed in. You could try the ridgeline on Bellevue. That is pretty nice and has some easy scrambling if you want it. Galwey should also be in shape. There is still a bit of snow in some gullies, but it looks good.

For established trails you could try the horseshoe trail that leaves from the Buffalo paddocks. Bertha bay should also be good. The trail down the Cameron Highway from Crandell lake is also open. I am not sure what else I would recommend.

Otokomi lake in Glacier may be partially open as well. I imagine as you get closer to the lake it should have a bit of snow on the trail.

Hope that helps

Weather looks best in Stonehill this weekend, so we are avoiding the potential winds at blackleaf and going west.
