April Party
UPDATE
With the weather starting to get nice this weekend, it looks like some people are coming down to play on the Hump and the Info Bureau Sat and Sunday (April 25, 26). If anyone is interested, feel free to join in. Stop by Chris' place next to Tamarack mall Sat. night. There is space in the backyard for camping - but it may be damp. 859-2452
Chris Morris - hope you can make it out - Blair and Dave are heading up the Hump on Sunday.
I have been thinking of having a season opener party in April. I bought a new kayaking movie, and was thinking about asking around to see if someone has king lines. I thought if we get the kayaking and climbing crowds together, we should be able to get a big shin dig going. I am hoping to do host it on a Friday night and have a big BBQ. I am still trying to figure out the location and date. I have a projector and screen.

To all the climbers out there The proposed Kayaking movie can be previewed at (be careful I am not responsible for you getting hooked!)
Its a sick video, and As a climber and Kayaker, I am happy to report that Kayaking videos Rock!
My bad, just click on "preview"
Yeah, it is going to be hard not opening the box on that one before the party!
Sounds like fun Chris. Might be as much fun as the ice opener....
Friday April 25th looks like the night. We are still ironing out locations. So far the proposals are
-Cardston at Nathan Smith's house or campground
-Lethbridge Chris' small new apartment
-Waterton at Chris' house
-other...
I would also be into having a separate climbing party or event on Sat/Sunday in Waterton. The 2nd annual (8 years apart) tick fest. Prizes for the most routes done? We could also try to talk to the Pass people and line something up over there.
The Pass people like that idea... I have the may 1st weekend off and it will probably warm up enough by then.. It would be great to show the goat mountain climbs off and get people forging new lines up there and if the weather craps everyone can help me finish reno my bathroom.. Bring your trad rack and love for rotten rock..

Blair, Dave, and Trevor came down Sunday. The wind was still a little gusty this weekend. WHile the guys climbed on the hump, Anne and I took off to Blairmore to get some shelter.
We ran into Scott Whiteside's girl camp. That meant we had to warm up on the sharp short climbs at the base. Anne got a good rip on her finger. Not a terribly productive weekend.
We have officially decided any weekend before now and the middle of June is a Koocanusa trip.
