Experts Choice

Climbed Experts today and it is in good condition. The left side is really good, the center route is in good shape, although as usual, it looks pretty tough but the right side is unchanged from a month ago and is not in which surprised me.
Anyways, i'm off until Jan 02 so if anyone wants to get out give me a call, 327-9914.

Bring along something to drink and something to BBQ. We will try and bring enough BBQ's to go around. If you need any further info you can contact the Ascent climbing wall at the university or myself @ 634-8756.

Local Ski Hills

With all the fresh powder falling in the mountains, I thought an quick overview of some of the lesser known ski hills around the Waterton area would be good.

Blacktail


- located on the west shore of Flathead lake, about 30 min south of Whitefish/ Kalispell
-adult tickets are $34
- supposedly no lines and a good family hill



Teton Ski Hill

- located 30 min west of Choteau (which is 2h south of Lethbridge)
- adult tickets are $27
- definitely no lines and great scenery



I assume everyone knows about Castle and Fernie, the other hills within 2 hours of Waterton Park.

I went for a quick spin on star creek falls this morning and I think it would be prudent to warn everyone that something small(medium sized actually) and furry got eaten on the first ice step on the way in... Im not squeamish by any means but there is a pretty nasty mess that you cant really walk around.. I would wait until it snows a foot or two before anyone brings there mom up there for her first ice climb. I would watch out for cougars in the canyon as well as I asume thats what made the mess.

Mini Ice Opener

Quick & Dirty - Dec 2

There was a mini Ice Opener of sorts at Quick & Dirty on Sunday - good times with 3 separate parties there.

The climbs in the Q&D area are in, fun, and very very wet. French Kiss was especially sloppy. Hopefully the climbs will stay in good shape through the Chinook this week. It also snowed hard all day, yay!
